Sie wird auch die <strong>Pfalz bei Kaub<\/strong> genannt. Sie liegt 100 m vom rechten Rheinufer und 160 m vom linken Rheinufer entfernt. In den Jahren 1326\/1327 wurde von Ludwig dem Bayern der Turm errichtet. In den Folgejahren entstanden Anbauten und schlie\u00dflich die starken Befestigungsmauern, um die Burg gegen das Hochwasser zu sch\u00fctzen. Sie wirkt daher wie ein wehrhaftes Schiff. Die letzte Ver\u00e4nderung erfuhr die Burg durch den Bau der Barocken Turmhaube im Jahr 1714.
