Sie entspringt im Pf\u00e4lzer Wald, wo sie noch <strong>Wieslauter<\/strong> genannt wird, durchflie\u00dft das Wasgau und passiert kurz vor Wissembourg (Wei\u00dfenburg) die Grenze nach Frankreich. In der Stadtmitte von Wissembourg ist sie in zwei Kan\u00e4le aufgeteilt, die am Rande der Stadt wieder zusammenflie\u00dfen.\u00a0Hinter Wissembourg bildet die Lauter die Grenze zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich. Sie m\u00fcndet in der N\u00e4he von <strong>Lauterbourg<\/strong>, gegen\u00fcber von Karlsruhe in den Rhein.<\/p>\n<p>Auf dem Bild links ist zu erkennen, warum man auch hier in Wissembourg von &#8222;Klein-Venedig&#8220; spricht, obwohl das bescheidene Kanalnetz nat\u00fcrlich nicht mit Venedig vergleichbar ist. Im Hintergrund ist der Turm der Abteikirche <strong>St. Pierre et Paul <\/strong>zu sehen.<\/p>\n<p>Die alten H\u00e4user der Stadt, die vielfach noch aus dem 16.
