Die Stadt geht auf eine keltische Gr\u00fcndung zur\u00fcck und wurde im Jahr 908 Bischofssitz. Die <strong>Kathedrale<\/strong> wurde in der Zeit von 1160 bis 1326 erbaut. Zur Zeit der Reformation <!--more-->im 16. Jahrhundert wurde sie von Anh\u00e4ngern des Reformators John Knox (1514-1572) zerst\u00f6rt.
