Im Jahr 1109 wurde die erste Klosterkirche geweiht. Die urspr\u00fcnglich romanische Kirche wurde im 15. Jahrhundert im Stile der Sp\u00e4tgotik umgebaut. In den Jahren 1741 bis 1753 wurde die Kirche in ihrer heutigen Form im Stil des Sp\u00e4tbarock erneuert. Die Gestaltung des Innenraums erfolgte bis 1765. Seit der Fertigstellung gilt die <strong>Klosterkirche<\/strong>, heute <strong>Zwiefaltener M\u00fcnster,<\/strong>\u00a0als Gesamtkunstwerk des S\u00fcddeutschen Rokoko. Sie wurde von 1974 bis 1984 umfassend restauriert.<\/p>\n<p>Das Kloster, hat die Reformation im fortan evangelischen W\u00fcrttemberg als katholische Abtei \u00fcberlebt. Mit der S\u00e4kularisation wurde die Abtei 1802 allerdings aufgel\u00f6st. Der Besitz fiel 1806 an das damalige K\u00f6nigreich W\u00fcrttemberg. Ab 1812 wurden die Geb\u00e4ude als &#8222;k\u00f6nigliche Landesirrenanstalt&#8220;, sp\u00e4ter &#8222;Psychiatrisches Landeskrankenhaus&#8220;, heute &#8222;Zentrum f\u00fcr Psychiatrie&#8220;, genutzt.<\/p>\n<p>Das Zwiefaltener M\u00fcnster kann tags\u00fcber besichtigt werden. Der Zugang (links vom Hauptportal) ist \u00fcber eine Rampe mit Handl\u00e4ufen auch mit Rollstuhl oder Rollator m\u00f6glich.
