Aber beide verdanken, wie viele andere im Land, ihre Entstehung dem Gedenken an den Deutsch-Franz\u00f6sischen Krieg 1870\/71 und der danach folgenden Vereinigung\u00a0des Deutschen Reiches und der Kr\u00f6nung Wilhelm I. zum deutsche Kaiser.\u00a0Die Germania spiegelt den patriotischen Zeitgeschmack und den Hang zur Opulenz Ende des 19. Jahrhundert wieder.
