Diese Burg ist f\u00fcr jeden der Schwindel erregende Perspektiven mag ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Nat\u00fcrlich ist auch die Lage am S\u00fcdufer der Firth-of-Forth-M\u00fcndung mit Blick auf <strong>Bass Rock<\/strong> ein wunderbare Kulisse f\u00fcr dieses Burgerlebnis. Ich war\u00a0hier im Sommer 2008 auf dem Weg von Zentralschottland Richtung Heimat bewusst\u00a0l\u00e4ngs des Forth\u00a0gefahren, um auch dieses St\u00fcck s\u00fcdliches Schottland etwas besser kennen zu lernen. <strong>Tantallon Castle<\/strong> war dabei mein Hauptziel. Zugegeben, ich h\u00e4tte nat\u00fcrlich lieber Sonnenschein zum Fotografieren gehabt, aber das etwas verhangene Wetter gibt den Bildern vielleicht ein besondere Note. Nachdem William Douglas nach seiner R\u00fcckkehr aus Frankreich Earl of Douglas wurde, lie\u00df er diese Festung als Ausdruck seines Reichtums und seiner Macht erbauen. In sp\u00e4teren Jahren ging die Burg an die Earls of Angus \u00fcber. Im Laufe der Geschichte konnten zahlreiche Belagerungen dieser \u00e4u\u00dferst wehrhaften Festung nichts anhaben.
