Sie wurde 1749 bis 1762 erbaut. Nach den schweren Besch\u00e4digungen am Ende des 2. Weltkrieges wurde die Kirche 1959 bis 1961 wiederhergestellt und in den Jahren 1973 bis 1989 weiter renoviert. Dabei entstanden\u00a0auch die pr\u00e4chtigen Deckenfresken nach alten Fotografien neu. Original erhalten sind die beiden barocken Alt\u00e4re und die besonders wertvolle Kanzel. Die 1986 hier aufgestellte Orgel\u00a0wurde 1954 von der Firma Verschueren Orgelbouw in den Niederlanden gebaut und stand zun\u00e4chst in der Augustinuskerk in Nijmegen\/NL. 1984 wurde das Instrument angekauft und optisch an den barocken Stil der Kirche angepasst.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22982\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22982\" style=\"width: 580px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/georg-dahlhoff.de\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/201502281094.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-22982\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/georg-dahlhoff.de\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/201502281094.jpg?resize=580%2C435&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"nnenansicht Pfarrkirche St. Peter, Mainz - Bild Nr. 201502281094 \" width=\"580\" height=\"435\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22982\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">nnenansicht Pfarrkirche St. Peter, Mainz &#8211;
